• The plugin directory on www.ads-software.com only has free plugins. I have paid for plugins, but when I go to the directory, I expect to find free plugins and only free plugins.

Beyond my expectations, if one for pay plugin is allowed to advertise in the directory, that developer has a major advantage over the other for pay plugins.

Therefore, it is important to make sure the plugin directory clearly shows what features are free and what features are for pay.

The plugin called “Social Login, Social Sharing, Social Commenting and more!” at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/loginradius-for-wordpress/ is misleading. The name of the plugin includes social login. The graphic on the plugin page includes a picture of a “Signin with Facebook” button and other social login buttons.

The first item in the list of features, which is bolded, says “1. Social Login”.

The main page lists 23 social login providers under the heading “List of Integrated ID Providers”

But, the free plugin cannot perform social login. Despite multiple indications that the plugin in the free-plugin directory can do social login, the only indication that it cannot do social login is “Note: Social Sharing feature is available with LoginRadius FREE plan where as Social Login and Social Commenting features are available with paid plans.”

This is misleading. If I search the free directory, I want to find plugins that do what they say they do–for free. When I searched the director for social login plugins, I wanted to find free plugins that do social logins. Instead, I found a free plugin that can do social sharing and if I pay, I can get social login. If I want a free social sharing plugin, I will look for one.

Simply put, no developer should be allowed to advertise their paid product in the free directory. The above plugin is not a free social login plugin, instead the page is an advertisement for a paid social login plugin.
