• I have custom styles for many websites and after 3.6.x update it was broken. Sure I have to figure out changes they did and waste a time to resolve it. Can’t put more than 1 star. Sorry. Glad do not be with Pro because I could not explain issues to clients for extra money.

  • Hey @andrug,

Which version are you using? We had an issue with 3.6.0 but quickly fixed it with 3.6.1 and 3.6.2 within 24 hours. Have you upgraded to 3.6.2? If you’re having an issue still, let me know and I’ll do my best to assist.

You can also down-grade back to a previous version if needed; they’re all available for download from this page: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/ml-slider/#developers

The new release is not fixing any security problems, so, the previous release is fine to use if it works better for you. But, if you can post in the support forum with a link to a page with an example of the problem, we’ll be able to help much quicker (unless someone else has already reported the same problem in which case, as Kevin says, it may already be fixed in the latest release).

    Hi guys,

The problem is you changed HTML or CSS flows so the visualisation is broken in my case because I’m using extra css to adopt the plugin to a custom designs in every case. I’ve had deal with very complicated in visualization plugins but they never had so significant changes for HTML or CSS. In case you need to implement it ujually developers issue new version separeted from the old one. And we know that new changes can bring a problem and that clients would not upgrade it because the old one won’t have same updates. Really strange I have to explain it.
Imagine if I could have 50-60 client websites and now I have to downgrade each installation manually.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Sorry to hear that! This sounds like it’s due to some changes in the CSS in the latest release of the bundled Flexslider component. These were discovered after the initial 3.6.0 release and are now fixed. (Please let us know in the support forum if you still have a problem).

If you have 50-60 paying clients I’d certainly recommend testing updates before pushing them to live sites, and deploying a backup plugin so that you can do instant roll-back if you find a problem. We do do as extensive testing as we know how, but there are always some usage combinations that aren’t covered; that’s the nature of software development with a plugin with 800,000 active users, unfortunately. Sometimes if you see a .0 release and if you don’t have any test sites then it can be best, realistically, to wait 24-48 hours to see if it’s swiftly followed by a .1 (etc.) release (as in this case). Again, sorry for the bad experience and I hope you will keep trying MetaSlider out as we keep working to improve it!

    Best wishes,
    David
