    Hi,
We had to notice that for smart bundles the stock status “in Backorder” is not used the quantity and stock of single products.

    To illustrate:

We have a smart bundle of one single product with fixed quantity of 2. For the single product, the inventory is managed at product level. In our scenario, there is only 1 item left in stock. For single product backorder is allowed with notification.

As long as the single product is in stock with 1 item, the bundled product will not change to “in backorder” even though the stock for the bundle is shown in backend correctly with 0, because we need for bundle a stock of 2 items.

When the single product changes to stock 0 and thus to stock status “in backorder”, the bundle will be also set directly to “in backorder”.

    Thanks for your help
