• Backend.

Whatever I edit on the Event Manager Setting and click save, it will show ‘Forbidden’ on a new tab. Even when i don’t make any changes, and just click save, it will also show ‘Forbidden’.

I have done all the permission instructions as per previous threads, i have contacted the hosting provider, clear cache, nothing seems to work. No problem with other plugins.

    Please advise.

  • It’s most likely that your hosting provider has a firewall rule that is blocking your IP address. You can use your smartphone (after disabling wifi) to test this or go to a different location or install Proton VPN (it’s free). Here are some other things to try: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-403-forbidden-error-in-wordpress/ (I know you’ve tried some of these things already).

i change changing VPN locations, also didn’t solve the ‘Forbidden’. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Was it working when you posted this topic?

If so, what changed since then?

it was not working when i posted this thread.

I was not able to reproduce this problem. You could try using the WP Safe Mode plugin to disable other plugins to try to find the cause of the problem and also try switching to a default theme like Twenty Twenty-four.

The ‘Remove all titles’ already worked.

The Forbidden errors still does not. The happens at backend of Event Manager. When ‘save’ button is clicked on Event Manager Setting, ‘Forbidden’ appear on screen.

This plugin is used in 2 different theme, and both showed the same ‘Forbidden’ message.

Have contacted Hosting Provider, they said nothing wrong on their side – as usual.
All other plugins worked, except Event Manager.
Event Manager worked frontend, appeared ok. Only backend setting cannot be saved – forbidden
    Have allowed permission.
    Updated latest wordpress
    php 7.4
Both main and staging environment appeared the same ‘Forbidden’

    I really don’t know how already. ??

I don’t know how to reproduce the problem to figure out what’s causing this error. Try creating a new install of WordPress then install Events Manager and then see if you can still reproduce this error.

Hi, i’ve got exactly the same problem like @vinijune !

And have tested many things but always, the white page with this simple word : Forbidden when trying to modify some settings (whatever the tab) … all the other plugins work fine, no such problem.

I’m very disappointed because i’ve changed Events calendar plugin for Events Manager, because i was thinking Events Manager was better (more options like colors for categories, etc ..). So i did a big work to set this plugin according my Organisation. Every thing was alright (i did a test with 2 differents events, and everything was ok : displays ok, subscribtions ok, etc ..). And suddenly, when i want to modify some settings : nothing is possible ! … :-((( (only can do this in the database ..)

And the only solution i read here is to re install the plugin !?? … so i’m going to lost all my specific settings ? …

Is it possible to have a stronger support please ?

    (sorry for my english ??

ok. i finally get it to work. @terrysxm

i turned off CDN on the hosting provider cpanel. then can save EM plugin setting changes.

Hi @vinijune and thousand thanks !!!

I turned off the CDN in Hostinger board, and after waiting some minutes, everything now is ok ??

But that means we could not use CDN ? … is it not a problem for the performance of the website ?

Many many thanks one more time !

Does the Hostinger CDN have page rules in settings so you can turn it off for specific URL patterns like “wp-admin/*”?

    Thierry D.

    (@terrysxm)

    Hi @joneiseman

No you can active CDN, and only check option if you’re on development website. So I checked the option, since I was on a development site but still I had the error… so by completely deactivating the CDN, that’s just how I no longer have the error.. ??

    @terrysxm

I think when developing the website which requires editing EM, turn off CDN. Turn it back on when done with EM editing. I don’t foresee will need to keep editing EM setting.

    (@terrysxm)

Hi, many thanks @vinijune & @joneiseman for your answers and help.

I’ve seen that i could create a staging website on Hostinger … so i’m going to see if i could desactivate CDN for staging and keep CDN on production site …

Actualisation : in fact it is not possible, because the staging site is on sub domain …but CDN is for all domain … it’s a pity ??

    Have a nice day
