Forbidden Access – Permission Denied

  • Hoping someone can help. I tried to log into my admin site today to make a new post and I can’t get in.. I don’t even get a login/ password combo, but just a big 403 forbidden page (you don’t have permission to access this blog on this server). This is the same page you see if you just try to access my blog.
    Can anyone help me trouble shoot, I’ve never seen this before.

  • Hi, Genevievenm, & welcome. We’re neighbors–I’m in Arizona.

    Could you please let us see your .htaccess file? Also, using either FTP (hopefully secure FTP) &/or your hosting control panel’s file manager, can you tell us the permissions assigned to the /blog directory?

    Its the permissions of the /blog folder.
    Please check with your host if they have disabled the public access to your blog.

    Thanks. My web host is trying to switch the server? I’ll see how that goes and then return here with next steps. I really appreciate the responses. Thank you.
