Force Classic Editor for certain Post Types

I dunno if it’d be universal for all of the posts in the post type out of box, but I know https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-editor/ allows you to choose which editor style to use, when editing each post.

Haven’t dug in, but their readme says this much:

“In addition, the Classic Editor plugin includes several filters that let other plugins control the settings, and the editor choice per post and per post type.”

I just found that I can turn “Show in REST API” to false and that make it so that the post type will revert to the clasic editor. I am not sure yet what else might be affected by making Show Rest API False, but I will explor this more and update here later.

Sounds good, and also good point with setting that back to false. I forgot about that detail earlier.

I created an account just so I can reply to this article and tell everyone who is looking for this information that you do not have to use the piece of crap block editor on wordpress. The solution is already out there for editing posts in class editor. For those who want to edit pages in the classic editor click on the page you want to edit. Read the url and change “block-editor” to “classic-editor”

Change this:
https://website.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2&action=edit&post_type=page&calypsoify=1&block-editor=1

to this:
https://website.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2&action=edit&post_type=page&calypsoify=1&classic-editor=1

I hope everyone uses this so that WordPress will restore easy access to the classic editor and will condemn the block editor to the fires of perdition where it belongs.
