    Hi,

Why is it that Force From email is required to successfully send email notifications?

I tried unchecking the Force From Email checkbox then made a test WooCommerce purchase. But the WooCommerce notifications do not push through.

But when I check the Force From email and make another test purchase, the emails went through.

The reason, I don’t want it to force the email sender is because I want to setup a different woocommerce email. And if I check it, it overrides the email I added in WooCommerce.

Btw, I am using the “Other SMTP” which is Hostinger. But I think I’ve also tried Google email before and it’s the same scenario.

    Hope you can help. Thanks!

    Hi @webvizionph,

Thanks for reaching out! Please kindly note that you can only send emails using your WP Mail SMTP authenticated email address. Your “from email address” should be the WP Mail SMTP authenticated email address.

However, if you configure the Gmail mailer instead, you have the ability to set up alias emails, allowing you to send emails using your email aliases as well.

Once you configure the Gmail mailer on your site, please follow this guide and set up your alias email(s).

This will allow you to set different “from email” addresses within different plugins such as WooCommere.

    I hope this helps. Thanks!

Thank you for the response. But the issue is that if the checkbox for “Force From Email” is not checked, I don’t receive notifications. But once I tick the checkbox of Force From Email, the notifications push through.

The problem with this is when the Force From Email is enabled in WPMail SMTP, despite adding a different “From Email Address” in WooCommerce Email settings, the email is being overriden.

    Hi @webvizionph,

Thanks for getting in touch! When you enable the “Force From Email” option, all of your WordPress emails are sent using your WP Mail SMTP authenticated email address. This ensures that your emails are properly authenticated and delivered successfully.

If you disable that option and your “From Email Address” is different from your WP Mail SMTP authenticated email address, those emails may fail to send because they lack proper authentication.

To use different email addresses, please consider setting up email aliases with the Gmail mailer, which allows you to send emails from different addresses while maintaining proper authentication. This setup will allow you to specify different “From Email” addresses within plugins like WooCommerce without the need to force the email sender.

I hope this clarifies the situation. Thanks!
