    Hi there

I’d like to enquire about the possibility of having an area of the map showing as highlighted when the page loads. On this page – https://tcsandbox.prism-media.co.uk/speedy-drivers – I’d like the ‘South East’ section to show as highlighted by deafult. As a temporary work-around I have copied the hover text that appears in the more info box to the field that shows the non-selected map text, but as well as the text showing I would also like the visual region of the map to stay highlighted from the instant the page loads until another area is clicked.

I understand that this is not part of the standard plug-in functionality but please could you advise on the section of code that needs to be modified in order to make this happen, and how to modify it? Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks
    Jack

Hi @jackmattison we do offer that functionality in our Pro Version with the “Always show hotspots for this image”. We have more details here: https://wpdrawattention.com/document/free-vs-pro/

    and an example here:
    https://wpdrawattention.com/document/sold-vs-available/

If you’re looking to make code changes yourself, the function to modify would be the shortcode() inside public/class-draw-attention.php and quite a few modifications to the javascript files.

    Best,

Hi Nathan – many thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Please could I check that my configuration settings from my free installation of DrawAttention can be easily transferred over to the Pro version? I am happy to proceed to purchase the pro version but it would take quite the effort to re-configure my map regions etc. If you could advise on whether this transfer is possible, and if so, how it is done, it would be appreciated? ??

    Many thanks,
    Jack

Hi there, yes you can upgrade safely without losing any of your settings or clickable areas ??

    Hi Nathan,

I have purchased and installed the Pro version of the plug-in however the region I have auto-highlighted stays highlighted even when I click another area. I recall that you confirmed that it was possible to have a region highlight up until another area is clicked, please could you provide details on how to set this up in the settings? The URL that contains the map is here – https://www.tcqadev.com/frontcover/speedy-drivers

As you can see, ‘South East’ is auto-highlighting, but stays that way even when clicked off.

Here are screenshots of my settings – https://pasteboard.co/JOKnOKe.png

    Thanks,

    Hello @jackmattison

Please feel free to use our pro support at [email protected] if you don’t wish to publicly post links to your pages and settings.

I see that you’ve set ‘always show hotspots’ and set a style for this particular hotspot so that it’s always visible. It’s behaving the way it’s been configured – the spot is always visible on the image, whether it’s currently activated or not.

I think what you may have been looking for instead is not for the spot to always be visible, but for the spot to be activated when the page loads, does that sound correct? We don’t have a way to indicate that one particular spot is active, but you can link to a hotspot from another page, activating the spot when the page loads. We have more information on that in our documentation here: https://wpdrawattention.com/document/build-link-opens-hotspot-page-load/

Let us know if you need more help with this.
