Force “Select Options” on variable products with default values set

On product collections (category pages, search results pages, related products sections, etc.), the CTA button for each product card will say either “add to cart” or “select options” depending on whether the product has multiple variants to choose from.
Variants can be assigned default values. In the case of a product with default values set for all its options, the “add to cart” label is displayed:With default values set, shoppers can add the variable product to the cart without having to make a selection first.

In other words, is it possible to configure whether to use “select options” or “add to cart” in cases when a product has default values set for all its options?
