Force user to select shipping method before checkout

I want the default shipping method to be deselected by default but woocommerce is selecting by default the shipping method. I want to force the user to select from the available shipping methods. I have read this thread (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/force-user-to-select-shipping-method-before-checkout/) but it is not working. Can you please help me achieve it?

I can see that you have the plugin Shipping Method Display Style for WooCommerce: by theDotstore – 3.7.5.
This might be changing how the shipping methods appear, making them dropdowns instead of radio buttons as my colleague explained above. I also see this on the plugin’s description page:
