Force user to select shipping method before submitting payment (shipping zones)

    Hello,
    we use postcode-restricted shipping for local delivery. Currently anyone can progress from the cart to the checkout. Only after trying to submit card details (Stripe), do they get warnings; address required, shipping method required etc.

    Is it possible to do either of the following;

    1. Force user to input address and select shipping on cart page? ie. they select shipping (or see that no shipping method is available) before they even reach the checkout.

    OR

    2. Validate address & shipping method availability before they input card details? ie. prevent them from trying to pay if shipping is not available.

    Reason:
    It is frustrating for user to go through the whole checkout process, input their card details etc only to discover shipping is not available to their address.

    Hi there,

    I *think* that you’re trying to make thing harder than what it could be, why not just showing the available shipping options straight on the product page to avoid the frustration you mentioned?

    That way if a customer is logged-in for instance, the postcode will be used and the available shipping methods will be properly displayed directly on the product page.
