• The plugin does the job. The only thing that I dislike about it is the forced data transfers that you can’t disable.

    Hi @notboring,

Thank you for your feedback. I think you misunderstood your claim of a forced data transfer, which is why we would like to explain this again here.

    Only the checkbox ”
I allow to transfer technical data about this WordPress installation to the update server of devowl.io and get latest announcements. This data is required for license activation and update functionality. I have read the privacy policy of devowl.io.” you have to activate in order to activate the license. In doing so, we obtain explicit consent to transfer data, which most WordPress plugin vendors transfer in the background without your consent or knowledge. The privacy policy explains the data collection in more detail in the section at https://devowl.io/privacy-policy/#m878.

The collection of this data is technically necessary as part of our due diligence and in your interest, for example, not to install an update that would no longer be compatible with your WordPress version that is not kept up to date and could thus destroy your website.

Access to external resources such as our servers that deploy updates may request a license key, which is implemented in Real Media Library. The update mechanism in the WordPress plugin without access to our servers will of course work without an activated license.

If you don’t want to activate the license key to access our license and update server, you can use Real Media Library without activating a license key. In that case, you can easily download updates of the WordPress plugin manually at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/real-media-library-lite/ (free version) or https://devowl.io/account (PRO version). The updates are available via automatic update or manual update for lifetime.

I hope the explanations have cleared your concerns!

    Best regards,

    Jan
