• I have the facebook app built, and authorized. I (Chris Maverick) am the admin of the FB Page (Vox Popcast). However, whenever I make a test post on the WP site, it posts as a “Visitor” rather than as the page itself.

The posts are also not importing comments from Facebook, but I suspect that might be a sub-issue of the first problem and that once the posts go to the right place, this might fix itself (but I don’t really know)

    WP site: https://voxpopcast.com/wp
    FB page: https://www.facebook.com/pg/voxpopcast/posts

Any idea why I am being forced into the visitor section?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Still having issues with posting as user and not as page name and test posts being blocked for “posting too fast” abuse. Nextscripts API instead on Native FB API option is somehow not available, and getting no reply to my support tickets. Sucks big time.

    No need to re-authorize.
Please choose your profile from the drop down, click “Save settings”, after that choose your page from the dropdown, click “Save settings”, try to post. It might work.

Confirm, it worked for me as well

I am still posting as the wrong person/visitor
    https://www.facebook.com/essextreestumpgrinding/
    no posts here
posts are as roy bretton not essex treestump grinding

If I purchase the API will this be fixed
    and
how many sites can I use the API on?

I have the same problem too. I am admin and i post like user posts on my page.

Is this an official update of the SNAP plugin?
Do you have one that would work for groups as well?

Do you have one that would work for groups as well?

It’s not about plugin. Facebook is messing its API since mid March. Apps created on different days behave differently.

No apps can post to groups.
Apps created before March 2018 can post to profiles and pages.
Apps created March-April can post pages. (Some can post to pages as pagename, some can post to pages as visitor).
Apps created on or after May 1st, 2018 can’t post anywhere. (https://www.nextscripts.com/news/2018/05/facebook-officially-closed-unrestricted-access-to-its-api/)
All apps will stop working on August 1, 2018.

I have the same problem. All posts that im sending to one of my pages with the plugin where posted with my private profile as a “visitor”. Tryed to choose the account again from the dropdown again but it wont work. Any ideas how this can be fixed?

@bennid, this is the only possible fix. it works for some people.

    1. Please install the latest plugin.
    2. Go to Facebook account settings, click green refresh button to get the latest list of your pages.
    3. Choose your profile from the drop down
    4. Click “Update Account info”
    5. Choose your page from the dropdown.
    6. Click “Update Account info”

Please try to post. It might work.

It’s important to do all those steps. It will not work if you don’t select profile and “Update Account info” first.

    @nextscripts
Already done these steps but still posting as visitor on pages and still not syncing comments. Should we understand, that since apps will be out of the API after August SNAP posting to pages will stop working as well?

    Plugin Author NextScripts

    (@nextscripts)

Posting to pages will stop working on August unless you get an approval from Facebook or switch to our Premium API.

    Thank you @nextscripts.

I will probably purchase the SNAP Premium API. However, I wanted to know how come posting on Facebook Page works with the SNAP API but it doesn’t with the SNAP Pro. Doesn’t both tools use Facebook APIs. Won’t the new changes from Facebook affect SNAP API as well?

Looking forward to hear back from you.

    (@nextscripts)

@alijabari, SNAP Premium API is not based on native Facebook API so it does not have any of its bugs, complications and limitations.
The whole point of SNAP API that it replaces the native Facebook API.

More and more I read about this, it seems that with all current (and future) FB restrictions on their apps and app secrets, any non-API compliant method of auto posting will result in user ban in no time. Some of us have spent years in building these online facebook communities with pages and groups. Is it really worth the risk?

    Plugin Author NextScripts

    (@nextscripts)

It’s totally up to you to decide.
Our API for Google+ and Pinterest works the same way. It was released 6 years ago. Not a single ban.
Our Instagram API (Facebook owns Instagram) was released 2 years ago. No issues with bans.
We don’t see why Facebook will be any different. Do not use it for spam, do not flood, do not abuse the network, do not break any terms and conditions and it should be fine.

Again, we are not pushing you and we are not promising anything. The only guaranteed way to proceed is to submit your app for review, get official approval from Facebook for posting permissions and use plugin the same way as before.
