I had a bit of a brain fart and forgot my admin password for wordpress.
So I hit the ‘lost password’ button and had it send something to my e-mail.
Only problem is, I’ve recieved a string of nonsense that I can’t make head nor tail of. At the start it says

    Mime-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: BASE64

Does that give anyone any clues?
Additionally, my e-mail client is Mozilla Thunderbird.

It’s a bug of sorts in WP. If you can access your site through ftp, see this thread:

Hmm, I had a look at that, but the problem’s more insidious.
I’ve tried decoding the e-mail: Doesn’t work, password not accepted.
I’ve tried changing the password directly through PHPMySQLAdmin: Doesn’t work, password not accepted.
Is there some sort of third way I’m missing here?

I understand. I’ve tried several more solutions. All of which stubbornly fail to work. I’ve replaced my wp-login with a version that sends non-garbled e-mail.
Here’s the fun part: The password it sends me does not work.

This is becoming quite a fascinating SNAFU.
See, I’ve hacked the database and even gone to the trouble of MD5-ing the password myself in case PhpMyadmin was messing it up, but NOW, instead of getting invalid password problems, I’m being redirected to the login screen.
So let me get this straight – you put in the correct password, and it redirects you to the login screen?
That’s pretty damn zen. Unfortunately, it’s also pretty damn useless. How the hell do I smack some sense into WordPress?

Interesting. It logs in and out just fine in *spit* MSIE *spit* but screws up in Firefox.
    Curiouser and curiouser.

    Ah.
    Clear the cache.

    And hopefully memorable.
