  • Hello,

Did you possibly backup your site to an offsite location like dropbox or google drive? If so you could access it that way. Or you could check your uploads directory to see if was stored there on your hosting server. You could even contact your hosting provider to see if they can help guide you in finding it if it was stored locally on your server.

    Hi, Jonathan!

It seems that your site is up and running and you should be able to access /wp-admin with your username/password.

If you want to move your entire site to another host, you have a few options if you can’t access WP Dashboard

    1. If you have access to cPanel/your hosting panel create a full backup from there (files and database) and restore it in the new host.

    2. If UPdraft created backups for you, you can restore those by accessing your site via FTP (UpDraft backups are stored at wp-content/updraft). If UpDraft was setup to send those backups somewhere (email, GoogleDrive etc) you should also check there.

I am not sure I understood how you lost access to your site so a follow up message might help me give you better tips.

    Hope this helps,
    Good luck!
    Vlad

Not that I’m awear of but I will check, I have just had a look and sometimes I can get on the website other times I can’t but when I can get on the website I can get to WP Admin but it won’t let me log in

What did you do in order to “change your domain”?

The database and your files are probably still there (unless you’ve terminated your services with your hosting provider). If Updraft has created any backups, then they’re probably also stored locally in the file system of the server.

You need to check with your hosting provider how to access these. In most cases, you’d log in to the hosting provider self service system, which may be built on C-panel or use some other solution. There you’d then access your database via PHPMyAdmin (where you can download a backup of the database). There you’d also configure access to the file system via FTP, next you’d install FileZilla or some other FTP-client in order to get access to the file system and download a backup of all relevant files (possibly including backups from Updraft).

I’m now able to get back onto the website (Just needed to clear my cookies) however it still isn’t letting me log into /wp-admin

You probably need to just deal with the login problem…

What is it telling you about the login error?

If it was me… I’d rename my plugins directory temporarily to get rid of that ReCaptcha test and try again.
