Forgotten password reset link not allowing password change

  • Hi

    When a user clicks forgotten password, the email password reset gets sent out no problem, however when the user clicks on the link in email to change password it directs to show “Oops that page cant be found”

    I have ensured that;

    The email has the {password_reset_link} within
    The page has been created and also under setting the page reset has been set to the correct reset page

    any help greatly appreciated

    Hi @teamjh19,

    Do you have a caching plugin or server side caching active on your site?
    Please try to exclude Ultimate member pages from the cache or disable caching and see if it helps. This issue can be also caused by some conflicts with your theme or one of your plugins. Please do a quick confit test and see if this issue goes away.
    Here is the doc on how to do a conflict test if you are not sure how to do it.

    Thanks for the message. I dont have any caching plugins on site however, when I do click on the forgotten password link it does allow be to enter my email address and I do receive the email its only when I click on the link in the email to change the password does the “Oops page not found”

    Hi @teamjh19,

    Have you assigned password reset page in Ultimate member -> Settings -> General -> Pages?
    Please make sure that your password reset page contains [ultimatemember_password] shortcode.

    I have also made sure that the email template has the {password_reset_link}
