    Hi,
Recently a form on my site stopped working after updating.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled.

The only way i can get a form to work is to use the default form, if I try to edit the form I get the “Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.” message. If after I get this message I revert the code back to the default form code it still doesn’t work, I have to delete the form and add a new default form again. I have cleared the cache etc..

Are there any cases/fixes for when the form stops working like this and the only fix is to delete and use the default form?

    Cheers
    Nik

  • Can you uninstall the the form, and after that install the updated version contact form plugin. Check the wordpress version and form plugin version dependencies. OR just create the new directory in the ftp and install the wordpress and plugin again then check the form? So now you can easily identify the issue.

Ended being a server issue, was getting a confirmation message for another form which made me think the server sending was fine… it wasn’t. Things learnt > green success message soesn’t always mean success (check the logs).

    Similar issue here.

Things learnt > green success message soesn’t always mean success (check the logs).

: where can I find the log?

What I meant was your server logs, checking that the email is actually sending where it’s meant to, my issue was I assumed it was because I got the green success message but the message wasn’t being sent properly.

An easier way to tackle it is use this plugin, select the email you’re trying to use and run the test, you will then see if the server is sending ok > https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/

Thank you a lot for you reply.

In the meantime I found the solution installing and setting up the “WP-Mail-SMTP” plugin.

Now everything works fine for me.

    Thank you in any case.
