Form Entry Being Resent Few Days Later

We typically see this kind of duplicates is being caused by your user’s who use Apple mobile devices. A change that Apple had made to their mobile browsers last year has caused forms (not just WPForms, but many types of forms) to send another submission if the user had not closed the browser or tab after their initial submission.

So basically, if the user submits a form, but does not close their browser, then at some point in the future reopens their browser and comes across the tab or browser where the form was displayed, it will cause the same data to be resubmitted.

There isn’t a fix for that particular issue yet, as web sites aren’t able to provide code that can control how a browser functions.

In such cases though we’ve found that enabling AJAX Form Submissions would help reduce the likelihood of this issue occurring. In case you’d like to give this a try, please see – https://wpforms.com/docs/how-to-enable-ajax-form-submissions/

Another method that helps to prevent this is to change your form’s Confirmation setting from Message to either Redirect or Show Page. This way your users will no longer be on the form’s page after submission, so the form can’t be submitted again accidentally.
