    Responding to all your parts from https://github.com/CMB2/CMB2/issues/964 here.

    I’d check the browser console to see if there are any errors cropping up. Visual Editor is heavily tied to javascript, and it’s possible something isn’t loading in the modal or errors are occurring.

    Did you receive any errors as well for the image uploads? What’s your CMB2 config so we can see if there’s anything glaring there? Also if on a publicly-accessible site, a link to the form/popup you’re trying with could help as well.
