• I had very little trouble going through each of the steps to get the form the way I wanted it; however, this process would have been much easier and faster with clear, concise directions. Eventually I got it done, and integrating into my site was no problem.

Then came the landing page! This was much worse. I looked up the “tutorial” for that — what a joke. There are no step-by-step instructions on how to build the landing page, what the terms mean, etc. I’m sure it’s very easy for anyone who has a little website experience; however, I and many others out there are struggling to launch our websites with NO experience and are already tearing our hair out trying to learn WordPress. We need clear, simple steps: “Do this. Here’s how. Then do that. Here’s how. Here’s what this term means. Here’s what that one means.” I contacted their “help” desk and, other than the automated “We-got-your-request-and-will-be-in-touch-shortly” reply, never received an answer. Could this be because I have the free account? If so, they’re shooting themselves in the foot, because if people have a bad experience with a free account, why would they ever pay to upgrade?

As it is, I’m going to have to launch my site without a landing page, until next month when I can attend my local WP Meetup and get some help.

The Mailmunch plugin itself may well be worth the 4-5 stars other people have given it; however, due to the sad lack of clear instruction/tutorials and customer service, I’m giving it two.
