The form is not made invisible after submitting while using the form with a shortcode. The submit text simply is shown below the form. Is this on purpose or will the change?

  • Re,

I don’t believe it was designed to be hidden. It’s almost impossible to do so if one has JavaScript disabled (you can still register).

    MRC.

Ok, because in the other version of MP the form disappears on submit and the text appears. This makes much more sense from a user experience perspective. By the fact that the form disappears and something is happing the user knows that the submit process is running. Also I have never seen a form not disappear on submit so not letting it disappear may cause confusion with the user.

I think the best approach is:
    1. Click submit
    2. The form is transformed into a pre loader (see below)
    3. The “after submit text” appears

On some websites the time between clicking submit and loading the success text is 2 seconds. Therefore a pre loader would be very helpful.

    Some nice pre loaders:

Who has JS disabled these days? Almost no one. And there could be a function that if JS is disabled, the form works differently. See for example this answer to do that: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/121203/how-to-detect-if-javascript-is-disabled

Webbiepro, thanks for the suggestion. We’d have to agree with you on this one.

We’ll keep it for later as it’s not a launch critical item at the moment.

Alright :). Thanks for the feedback. Just curious:
    – When will MP3 be released?
    – When will a migrate tool be available and will it also cover existing newsletters?

It would be handy to know what you guys have in mind for the migrating tool so we know if we want to manually transfer our clients to MP3 or just wait for the migrate tool.

MailPoet 3 will be officially release in September 2017.

Everyone should get a head start and switch now to it. It’s stable, safe and it’s much better. ??

Migration tool is available for anyone installing MaiLPoet 3. See the upgrade checklist here:
