When I edit my form in WP created with WPLite, and when I choose view form, I am able to fill in the form and send it OK. However, on my actual web site, when I try to fill out the form and send it, I get an error that says can’t send and contact site administrator. There is a reChapcha box on the bottom of the form which I click and I get a check mark so that seems to be OK. If I do nothing simply click the reCaptcha box again and hit submit (the form remains filled out with the previously entered info), it sends properly. I can’t figure out why it works OK in the view in the editor, but not when live on my web site. Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hey @jckgld – Thanks for reaching out!

Upon inspection, it seems that the form is working properly on my end and I was able to submit it successfully on the first try. Here’s a screencast for your reference.

When you have sometime, can you please share the browser you’re using so I can test in that specific setup?

    Kindly,

    Yes. It is now working.

I was able to fix the problem by going into the form editor, selecting Settings, Spam Protection and Security, and disabling the Anti-spam Protection. It was set to on by default, along with my Captcha, which seems to be working properly. Apparently it is this Anti-Spam feature that caused my form to fail, and there must be some kind of bug in the feature that prevents it from operating properly on my web site.

It would be nice to have this feature turned on, but since it is making my form fail, I guess I’ll have to live without it.

Hey @jckgld – Thanks for following on this ticket!

In this specific case, I’d suggest you change the token lifetime as I see you’re using the Hummingbird cache and that should fix the issue for you. to be able to use the Anti-spam feature.

Thanks for the suggestion, but frankly your fix is well beyond my simple editing skills to implement. I really don’t know how to edit at the code level…. unless its a setting within the tool itself I won’t be able to implement it.

Hey @jckgld – I understand that it can be a bit tricky to add custom codes.

In case it helps, you can take a look at our tutorial with the most common ways to add custom code like this. For the most beginner-friendly option in that tutorial, I’d recommend using the WPCode plugin.

That said, you can also consider disabling the Anti-spam feature on the form, and enable reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha or Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam submission.

    Kindly,

Hey @jckgld – We haven’t heard back from you since my previous message, so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist further, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.

    Thanks!
