Form not submitting with URL entered into Text field?

Our form isn’t submitting once you hit send (progress spinner just stays on screen but doesn’t do anything) when a URL is entered into a Text field? We can’t use URL field as it will usually be just normal text entered. Any ideas?
I should add that the form submits and emails fine when normal text is entered into the field.
