Form not working after 4.4.1 wordpress update

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues. Most people that work through this information appear to be able to resolve their email sending & receiving issues.

The same issue after upgrade to version 4.4.1 we have lots of contact form installations across wordpress multisites, and all aren’t working it does look like a compatibility issue with wordpress 4.4.1

The default message that comes up is:
Sender’s message was failed to send

Tried replacing
/wp-admin/js/postbox.js
/wp-admin/js/common.js with wordpress 4.4.0 but no joy

anyone have any ideas

This is not good. I’m having the same issue. An update is needed to the plugin asap please! Thanks

Plus it probably has to do with the latest WP update.

Okay found a temporary solution:

replace the content of
/wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php
with the below (it’s from version 4.4.0)

Thanks for the solution! But that is way too much to go through across multiple sites.

I have multisite so it was relatively easy to implement, and it is only a temporary solution I’m hoping the plugin developer will be able to put together a plugin update – and maybe I’ve helped them identify the issue.

Are you just cut an pasting the code into: /wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php

alternatively you can download wordpress 4.4.0 from archives and, upload (I would back up the original file though, as you might want to revert back when ‘contact form 7’ come up with an update)

i replace /wp-includes/class-phpmailer.php but in worpdrees version 4.3.1 and works!

I had a client’s site with the same problem, restored from an old backup so their site is back on WP 4.4 AND CF7 4.3, and the form is working properly again.
