This solution resolve the “confirmation message” issue in the form after sending (red message / green message), but the mail sent doesn’t arrive in the admin mailbox. Only the confirmation mail to the sender is received.

Well, for me, I didn’t had the “confirmation message” problem because all was set good, with arrows, square brakets and good shortcodes, so I always had a green “confirmation message” (before and after WordPress update). But the mail sent DOES NOT arrive in the admin mailbox here.

Can you verify and confirm?
Thanx

@ belasajgo

Thank you so much, formatting From field as “WordPress <[email protected]>” really helped!

People, whoever hasn’t tried this method yet — please, do!

@ben69007 The from field fix was a total fix for me – I get the green message and emails are arriving with admin

The solution (workaround) of kate_kreate WORKS ok also for me.

In my case I had to write

[your-name] <[your-email]>

before it was

[your-name] <Web site form>

the tag [your-email] is the mail-tag that I have on my CF7 but each webmaster has their own mail-tag to use.

Bye, thanks.

I am also having this same problem and have been trying to fix it for a few days now
I have tried various different solutions suggested on here including but not limited to :
<[email protected]>”
<[email]>
<[[email protected]]>
[your-name] <[your-email]>
wordpress<[email protected]>”
Does anyone have any other suggestions of how to resolve this ?

@kate_kreate @moreric
Thank you very much for the quick reply.
I use too those mail-tags shortcodes :
[your-name] <[your-email]>
These are those used in my form and those which are listed under the sentence “In the following fields, you can use these mail-tags:”
Moreover, I use again those shortcodes [your-name] <[your-email]> in the To field of the second Email (2) option, for the receiving confirmation to the sender. And he receives good his confirmation mail. So there is no shortcode configuration problem for me. The From field in the first Email (1) option is the problem for me here but why. I really can not explain.

I have tried the other solution told by @artalto @belasajgo which is to format From field as :
WordPress <[email protected]>
and it works. But this could be a temporaly fix because when the admin responds to the mail, he is responding to himself. He has to change manually the To recipient when he wants to respond.

Hope to find a solution soon. Thanx again for your participation.

I’ve had a lot of issues with this plugin since the update but it is working fine for me without changing anything EXCEPT the address I receive mail at. It used to by at my Hotmail but after changing it to an email I set up through my hosting, it works perfectly.

If I disabled the second email, it works sending to email one!

Seems to be an issue with sending the second one

For those who use the temporaly fix in the From field of the Email (1) option :
Wordpress <[email protected]>
You can put in the Additional Headers :
Reply-To: <[your-email]>
use your own shortcode, in my case this is [your-email]

That permits to the admin to reply to the good email sender and not to himslef.

@cbass, thank you for your search. Unfortunately no mail sent in my side, even if I desactivate the Email (2) option :'(

My issue is the same as @ben69007

The form works, the client receives the email confirmation but the representative who is meant to receive a copy of that email does not receive it.

We had exact same issue after latest WP update.
Pasting
[your-name]<[your-email]>
into the ‘From’ field exactly as above fixed the issue for me.

Bit of a nightmare though since we’re running CF7 on tens of sites and clients will only know there’s an issue if someone calls them up to tell them…

We’ve deactivated all plugins except CF7 and we are still getting the “Failed to send…” message with WordPress 4.4.1. Works fine with WordPress 4.4. We are not using the Mail (2) option.

Using the default [your-name]<[your-email]> in the From field works but we’d like to have our own custom text in the From field.

Looking forward to a CF7 plugin update that allows custom text in the From field.

i also want to report problems with cf7 after the wp-update to 4.4.1
checked if any plugins are interfering which is not the case.
i changed the from field to [your-name]<[your-email]>. having done that, the error message failed to send… does not show up anymore and the form is sent to the recipient of mail1 settings, but mail2 still does not reach its recipient.

Hi just wondering if anyone here might know how to solve an validation error problem I’m having..

Basically if a user fills in all the fields correctly and submits the form, it comes through on our end okay.

But if they leave out some text fields or incorrectly load an attachment, an validation error message appears. ie. wrong sized photo, etc. But for some reason, even after the user goes back, edits the form correctly and tries to resend it, the form doesn’t come through. Like its gotten lost..

Switching Theme: CF7 won’t send. Error Message.
Disabling all plugins: CF7 won’t send. Error Message.
Changing mail sending config on my site: CF7 won’t send. Error Message.
Doing the kate_kreate trick: CF7 won’t send. And no error message.

So I don’t want to use an outdated plugin and/or an outdated WP version.

Guys, please update CF7 as soon as possible.
