• We have an existing form at https://www.deluxemodels.com.au/employment which has worked fine for months, but all of a sudden, no emails come through.

I’ve upgraded WordPress to 3.8.2 and upgraded the Contact Form 7 plugin to 3.7.2, but still nothing.

I’ve changed the receiving email address to gmail/hotmail and my pop mail, but nothing.

After submission, it lands on the thank you page saying it was successful. I’ve also contacted the hosting provider who says email sending shouldn’t be a problem (plus I tested the lost password for WordPress admin link and it sent an email to me immediately).

What more can I do? Any help is appreciated, thanks ??

Hi, yes the ‘from’ email is (and always was) [email protected] to avoid any spam/SPF issues. No settings have changed, and we’re getting intermittent responses (two came through over the weekend, but when I tested it today – nothing!).

Let me know if there’s anything else I can test. The FAQs don’t seem to help me resolve this issue.

    Thanks ??

RE: After submission, it lands on the thank you page saying it was successful.

Are you using redirection to your thank you page?

??If you are, I’d suggest disabling this temporarily to see if any emails go through. You could have a Javascript problem somewhere that is preventing CF7 from completing its email sending process.??

Hi, yes I was using ip_on_sent_ok in the additional settings area, which was working fine, and still works intermittently (some users have submitted the form somehow, but I can’t get a successful send, and also others can’t).

I’ve removed the redirect, but still can’t get a successful send, even though the green box at the bottom of the page says ‘successful’ after submitting.

Not sure why it’s intermittent. Are there any other settings I can check? Puzzled!

The “green box at the bottom of the page says ‘successful’ after submitting” is a very clear confirmation that the email is being sent by CF7.

Intermittent failure usually points to ??problems being created by the content of your form.

For example using the default From: [your-name] <[your-email]> is very useful. It means you can simply hit reply to answer emails that you receive from people filling in your form. But you need hosting that allows any email to be used as the From: email. For some hosts though the From Email Address needs to be a valid email on that domain.??

Also emails can be considered spam for a whole host of reasons and get rejected at many points in the email process in addition to your spam folder??.

See Contact Form 7 Email Issues. Most people that work through this information appear to be able to resolve their email sending & receiving issues.

Yes, the from email field seems to be a common problem, but I’ve ensured that the email used there is [email protected], which is the same server as the website. I’ve also tested it with Gmail and hotmail, just in case, but it still didn’t work for me.

I’ve gone through the email issues link, but none of the troubleshooting tips resolve the issue. I’m stumped. More stumped that it was working before 100% of the time and now it appears to be working less than 50% of the time.

I may need to review the content, but then I refer again to it working before without any issues.

    Thanks for the advice anyway.
