    Hi Jason,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Well, you’ll just have to type in the currency symbol (“GBP” or “£” for example) into the cell.
Unfortunately, there’s no real way to do this with CSS unfortunately ??

Tobias, no problem at all. Just didn’t want to go to the trouble of typing the symbol if it wasn’t necessary.

Thanks for your quick reply and great support as always!

    Cheers

    Hi,

yeah, I also wish that there was an easier solution for this in HTML/CSS ??

One idea maybe: You could export the table to CSV, open that in Excel, set the currency format there, save to CSV again and re-import that into TablePress. I haven’t tested this, but if you are lucky, the currency symbol will be exported by Excel, too, so that you would save all the typing.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

Thanks for the follow up Tobias.

That worked actually (the CSV import method).
In this particular case, it wasn’t such a big deal since there aren’t many rows to contend with.

But i’ll bear in mind for future reference (unless you find a way to format columns and rows with data types in a future update)? ??

Until then 1 star! ?? (joke)

    Best regards

    Hi Jason,

    great! Thanks for the confirmation!
And yes that idea formatting columns with data types is on my list, but I have not yet found a nice way (and the time…) to implement it.

Thanks for the rating, I really appreciate it!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Tobias,

Awesome plugin! :I’m having trouble sorting by anything other than plain numbers. For example, currencies and percentages:

    https://sharktankstudies.com/shark-tank-results-list/

I imported this table as a CSV file with currency/date/percentage formulas embedded. But it seems to be sorting these values alphabetically.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Brock,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

The reason for this is that currencies/dates/percentages require different sorting algorithms. For the sorting that TablePress uses, those can be added with this TablePress Extension: https://tablepress.org/extensions/datatables-sorting-plugins/

    Regards,
    Tobias
