Formatting in editing mode causes words to run together

As an addendum to the problem above, I just tested a text paste into Classic editor and it worked fine, and the same paste into Gutenberg ran words together. Definitely a Gutenberg bug.

What browser and operating system versions are you using? I saw a similar report a couple of days ago but was unable to reproduce it, wondering if this might be related to specific browser versions.

I’m using Google Chrome and Microsoft Windows 10. The problem only showed up immediately after updating to Gutenberg 4.3, and Classic editing still works fine.

FYI–just updated to Gutenberg 4.4, no change in the formatting bug. Classic editor is my only option for now.

Well, my response was deleted but there is no solution yet. Hope wordpress can fix this because is very annoying and there are a lot of people suffering with that. I want to add that when I deactivate gutenberg, all my posts lost alignment and format, all of them, so, go back to the old editor is not an option for me. I really need a fix to this! Thanks

It took some digging, and managed to find a fairly recent ticket for this that I was unaware of.

I’d suggest following along at https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/11588 if you’re experiencing issues like this, and adding any information to that ticket if you have more to offer than what is already there.

As there’s an associated ticket, I’m marking this one as “resolved”, just so we know which topics have issues that need resolving here on the forums still.

Note that the github forum refers to a temporary code work-around. Apparently, this is a common problem and Gutenberg needs to fix it.
