• Hey there–

    I’ve noticed a weird inconsistency between the emails sent via preview or through the manual “send a message” interface, and those that go out when a post is published.

    This is on a site that I run that publishes one haiku or short poem every day. Here’s what the plain-text preview email looks like when I send a manual preview:

    ladybug
    up a stem and back
    quiet afternoon

    -Dan Curtis

    And here’s how the plain-text excerpt looked when the post published:

    ladybug up a stem and back quiet afternoon -Dan Curtis https://tinywords.com/2018/04/18/26732/

    Note that all the line breaks have been stripped out.

    If I send a note manually, using the “send an email” screen in Subscribe2, it preserves line breaks. So the problem is really only with the automatic ones.

    This is the template I’m using:

    {TITLE}
    {POST}

    -{AUTHORNAME}
    {PERMAURL}

    Any idea what’s going on here, and how to fix it?

    Update: I uninstalled the Subscribe2 plugin, then reinstalled it. After I set the mail templates back the way I wanted them, it seems like everything is working fine now.
