Formatting sitemap in footer

Hi,
I am trying to rearrange sitemap in the footer but seem to be a lot of work. I am trying to use ‘order’ but when i add ‘1’ to the home, ‘2’ to About us and ‘3’ to Contact Us, they do not move to the top 3 positions in the footer widget.
Help please!
