Formatting while editing and finishing

  • Prior to the last update I was never having any problems writing a blog in the editor and then saving it and publishing it.

    Now when all the paragraphs are spaced correctly, you go look at it in preview and spacing changes either in the preview or when you come back to edit mode…very frustrating.

    Also when I then go look at the site view, it gets disrupted. It’s as if nothing holds the formatting.

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder and wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    I honestly don’t think it is my plug-ins. I deactivated the most recent one and it had no effect.
    Everything has been working beautifully until the the last WordPress update.
    It is very frustrating that the page will show perfectly on the site after updating “a couple of times” then you go back to the editor and none of the paragraph formatting holds. It all becomes one big paragraph.

    I have 19 plug-ins and everything was running very smoothly UNTIL 3.9.1 upgrade. Actually may have been the 3.9
    Whatever was done with the visual editor is definitely messing with things.
    I still have the issue I mentioned above. When in visual, I type the new post, create headings, insert media, etc. If I save in visual and then go preview the post, when I come back the paragraph formatting is all gone.
    If I save in text view, go look at preview post, come back everything stays.
    IN ADDITON I am now have HTML issue with this. Simply saving what I type is creating RSS errors.
    If I save some HTML code for an opt-in form at the end of my post. When I publish it, the code gets modified and I get RSS errors.
    AGAIN this never happened prior to the upgrade.
    HELP!
