Formidable incompatible with User Role Editor – Locks out Administrator!
-
I had successfully installed User Role Editor(URE) and created a new role called “Admin”, with permissions set between the standard WordPress(WP) Editor and Administrator roles. URE settings had been edited to include “show Administrator role/permissions”.
Later on I was editing forms in the Formidable plugin and needed to change some permissions within Formidable to make certain Formidable functions open to the new Admin role (as they had previously all been set to Administrator only).
On clicking Update (of the Formidable permissions) WP said I (as Administrator) no longer had access to the page.
I then checked URE and it had unticked some Administrator permissions. So I reticked all permissions and clicked Update (in URE). But I was still blocked. Then I tried clicking on Reset (of Administrator role, in URE). Still no luck.
Things have gone from bad to worse: URE, WP Users and WP Plug-ins are no longer accessible. In fact most WP menu items are no longer there and I have in effect locked myself out of the Administrator role in WP.
What do I need to do to reset user role permissions to WP defaults, given that the Administrator role has been severely restricted by URE?
Please help!
