I need help with something. The form I’m working with is a mock test registration form. And I’m working with a tutoring center.

A student may register for multiple exams so if they picked 1 in no. of mock exams field – select field with option 1-10 (single select type).

a field group with 4 fields would appear.

    • Date of Mock Test – select field
    • Curriculum – select
    • Subject -select.
    • Paper Code Select.

I have achived this using visibility show/hide. So if it were 10 papers I require 10 field groups / 40 fields would appear in total.

The issue I’m facing is that paper codes options should be dynamic based on each selection a user makes. i.e. say they’ve picked Edexcel as curriculum and subject as maths.

Only options that corresponds to edexcel maths should appear in paper codes option for a user to select from.

I do not want the work around of creating multiple fields and hiding them as it would mean I have a tough time grasping the csv data.

    Can you help.

Also why isn’t this feature in the roadmap yet? I see a lot of people requesting for it.

    Hi @codeandflu,

I hope you are doing well today!

As of now, the feature you’re looking for-dynamic field options based on previous selections, doesn’t exist in Forminator.

The logic conditions in Forminator allow fields to be show or hidden based on the choices made in the previous fields. However, dynamically changing the options within a field based on a user’s prior selection within the form isn’t supported straight out of the box.

This feature has been requested by other users too and could be a valuable addition to Forminator. Unfortunately, including this feature in roadmap is the prerogative of the development team, based on numerous factors such as feasibility, demand, development resources, etc.

Given the current features, your approach of using 10 field groups for 10 papers is probably the closest workaround. For a more streamlined solution fitting your specific needs, it would require custom scripting, which may need a developer’s help.

Please also subscribe to our roadmap on https://wpmudev.com/roadmap/ to receive the details on each update and also check the changelog in https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/forminator/#developers

    Kind regards,

I see other form providers offering it as a feature. Conditional Logic for fields. Formidable offers this if I’m not wrong.

Shouldn’t this be a priority in the roadmap?
I’d hate to switch. I use forminator on all my client website. And I’m quite used to it.

Is there no work around. Can you drop me a custom code to implement this? I’ll try my best to implement this on my own.

    Hi again @codeandflu,

I understand you’re eager for the new feature. However, I’m sorry to tell you that we can’t give an exact time for when it will be ready. This is because it’s up to our development team as I explained before whether as they decide to include this feature in roadmap or not and it is based on numerous factors such as feasibility, demand, development resources, etc.. Thank you for your understanding.

    Kind regards,

    Hi @codeandflu,

Please do note that we have raised this as a feature request to our Forminator team so that we can check the possibility of implementing such a feature down the roadmap.

While we cannot provide a specific timeline yet, you can always subscribe to our Roadmap for upcoming new features:

     https://wpmudev.com/roadmap/

Since this feature request is something which we’ll review in future, we’re marking this thread as resolved for now. However, if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

Any time soon the update would show up?

    Appologies if I’m bothering you.

    Hi @codeandflu,

I do get you, but I regret to inform you that we currently don’t have a definite time frame to provide for the implementation of the feature you’re enquiring about.

Our team is still in the process of reviewing it for feasibility and whether it could be implemented down the development roadmap.

Prioritization of features on the development roadmap depends on existing tasks and their relative importance and hence there isn’t any update that I could provide at the moment.

    Kind Regards,

    Nithin
