I’m in the process of updating a form. And, all a sudden, it’s not allowing me to save the form. When I click “Save Draft” or “Publish” buttons, I received the error message “Invalid request, you are not allowed to do that action.”

What is causing this error message? I’m afraid to lose my changes by logging out of WordPress.

    Hello @skatesnob

Hope you’re doing well today! I am sorry to hear about the issues you’re facing.

I tried to replicate the issue on my test site but could not replicate it. It means that the issue is specific to your site. In this case, can you please confirm if you have already tried saving the form from a different tab?

Let me explain a bit more, you can keep the current tab open where you notice the error, right-click on the tab open the tab as “duplicate” and check if you are able to save the form there.

The error that you notice is mostly due to incorrect permissions for the user on the WP admin backend or some issues with permissions at the server level. However, we will need to first narrow down if the issue is related to the specific form.

Also, can you please confirm if the issue occurred after updating any plugin or theme on your site? Also can you please let us know if the issue is happening only on a specific form after you added any specific fields?

Lastly, could you please share a screenshot of the form settings including the form fields so that we can try and replicate the setup to see if the issue is replicated on our end so that we can troubleshoot it further?

    Awaiting your response.

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh

I was planning to replace FastSecure on my sites with Forminator, but am having the same issue.

I have disabled Fast Secure in case there was a conflict, but that made no difference.

I do not understand the duplicate instructions above.

    Hi @richterworks

I hope you are doing well.

Per forum rules we should create a new thread, even though that seems similar to the existing one we need to look at case by case.

That said, by duplicate my colleague asked to check if a duplicated form https://monosnap.com/file/Uun57KA2hyNT3cv9VOlL4oyuvBadDZ makes any difference.

But another test is by checking the Ajax response, clicking on the right button of the mouse > inspect, then switching to the network tab, clear all requests there, pressing the Save button and checking the first admin-ajax response, clicking on preview and seeing what you get there. https://monosnap.com/file/5jbw4gWfX9qJNkJxDlPx43c8O5WRbv

As I said, kindly start a new thread if you still need help.
    Best Regards
    Patrick Freitas
