    Hi,

We have a website with a ‘Contact Us’ page that uses the Forminator plugin, however recently we have found that the recaptcha has disappeared from the page and subsequently the forms cannot be submitted, receiving the error message ‘Invalid CAPTHCA’.

After trouble shooting the issue I have found that there seems to be a conflict with the Yoast SEO plugin, as when this is deactivated the recaptcha is back on the ‘Contact Us’ page and the forms are submitted successfully.

    WordPress v6.6.2

    PHP v8.1.22

    Forminator v1.35.1

    Yoast SEO v23.5

Any assistance in resolving this would be appreciated.

    Hi @mjg12

    I hope you’re well today!

I just tried to replicate it but to no luck – having both Yoast and reCaptcha on Forminator form didn’t result in any issues on my end.

But it’s quite possible that it’s a bit more specific so let me ask:

    – the Yoast version that you are using – is it free or pro version?
    – does changing reCaptcha version in reCaptcha field on the form make any difference (I mean – is the issue about reCaptcha in general or specific type of reCaptcha only)?
    – do you have any other plugins (or option in theme) at all that is meant to add reCaptcha to site other than Forminator and if yes, what is it?

    Kind regards,
    Adam

    Hi Adam,

We are using the free version of Yoast SEO.

We are using ReCaptcha V3 which appears on the page and works fine when Yoast SEO is deactivated, when it is re-activated the ReCaptcha icon disappears from the page and forms fail to submit.

I have tried changing it to V2 Checkbox and whilst there is a error message on the icon because the site / secret key are not entered for this method in Forminator > Settings > CAPTCHA, the icon behaves the same on the page as above when Yoast SEO is activated / deactivated.

The website has been built using Cornerstone.

As far as I am aware this is the only plugin that uses reCaptcha, for reference below is a list of the plugins used:

    • Advanced Custom Fields PRO
    • Filter Everything — WooCoomerce Product & WordPress Filter
    • Forminator
    • Popup Builder
    • Really Simple Security
    • Tidio Chat
    • Yoast SEO

    Hello @mjg12

Hope you’re doing well today! Thank you for sharing detailed information.

It seems that this will need further checks as the issue is not replicated on our end, however on your site I am still able to replicate the issue and can confirm that the reCaptcha scripts are loading fine. It looks like there could be something going on “behind the scenes” as there is no console error reported as well.

In this case, could you please perform a quick test by navigating to the form >> Behaviour >> Rendering and enabling “Load form using AJAX” and see if that makes a difference? Please refer to the screenshot below on how you can enable it. https://monosnap.com/file/WvDUyfmPQHRcip3If5ABIOFE0DtbLM

Further, if that does not help, could you please share the form export with us so that we can import the form on our lab site and see if the issue is replicated?

    To share the form export
    – Navigate to the “Forminator -> Forms” page in your site’s back-end
    – click on a little “gear” icon next to the form in question
    – select “Export” option
    – copy given export code and paste it at?https://pastebin.com
    – include link to that paste in your response below.

Note: this export will not include any data that is already submitted – they’ll stay safely on your site and we don’t need them anyway.

    Kind Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hi,

Forminator > Forms > Contact Us > Behaviour > Rendering

‘Load form using AJAX’ is currently enabled, if this is disabled the form is no longer visible on the page.

Below is a link to the form export:

    Hi @mjg12,

Thanks for sharing the export, however, I’m not able to replicate such an issue in my system with Forminator export and Yoast plugin.

Could you please confirm the above conflict was ruled out with only Forminator and Yoast active and with a default WP Theme?

If not, could you please set up a staging site or a new test site and check and see how it behaves with only the above setup, it would help give us a better idea of what might be causing it and if more factors like theme are contributing to the issue.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,

    Nithin
