More Forminator problems. The captcha stopped working preventing my forms from being said.

I have redone the captcha and changed its type.

My (14 page form) gets me to the end and on submission returns

‘Error: Your form is not valid, please fix the errors!.’

There are no errors on the form.

This is another issue I am facing. My customers need to able to fill in this form without it failing.

It is beginning to look like I will have to look elsewhere.

    Not impressed.

I have tried different captcha – I have checked, multiple times, the correct settings and keys.

They are no longer working. Really?

hCaptcha is correctly setup – testing it on the captcha site confirms this.

    Forminator returns ‘Invalid CAPTCHA.’

    Hopeless.

Wonderful – ALL of my forms have stopped working. Thank you very much.

I have now had to remove all capture fields from all my forms. I will have to find a plugin that doesn’t break my forms like this. Terrific.

Check if any of your Values fields in Checkboxes an Radio buttons have ampersnads & (the and symbol) in them.

There is a known issue that makes forms not submit after the last update.

There is another post saying they are aware of the issue, but to me this should be an emergency release, this took me hours/days to figure out.

Forminators last few updates have been problematic ??

    Hi @canine1503

Sorry this happened unexpectedly on your form.

I believe @bwbwbw is correct that the special characters in your checkbox fields are causing the issue. Specifically the options with an “&” in your “what sort of play does your dog like?” section.

You can solve this by removing any special characters in these sections, and using alphanumeric values only (like changing “&” to “and”).

Alternatively, downgrading to a previous release of Forminator may also solve the issue. You can find official downloads of previous versions on this page under “Please select a specific version to download”.

This is a known issue in Forminator 1.18.1 and should be patched in the next release.

    Hope this helped!

So, to understand this clearly, forms that have been working fine, now don’t because of an update. Wonderful. Nice work.

And to add insult to injury, I have got the captcha to work again and NOW I am getting spam – something I have never had on any of my forminator forms.

Correct, the form will only error if on version 1.18.1 AND the user happened to check a box with an “&” symbol.
If both of these cases don’t exist, the form will be submitted correctly. I was able to make successful submissions on your current form as long as I didn’t check a box with “&” for the “what sort of play does your dog like?” section.

Luckily, you can easily downgrade to a previous version of Forminator, or remove special characters to alleviate the issue. A future update will solve this.

As for the CAPTCHA/spam issue, I don’t believe that’s related to Forminator specifically. There do exist bots which can bypass CAPTCHAs, it’s a constant cat and mouse game to deter them.

I’d recommend trying the various CAPTCHA methods provided by Forminator to see if any work better for your specific setup.
I’d also recommend checking out this article by the Forminator developers on common methods to avoid genral WordPress form spam.
A web search for “avoid WordPress spam” will also lead to helpful results on avoiding this.

This is ridiculous. I have gone through all of the fields and removed any ‘&.’

Just spend 20 minutes entering a clients details. Surprise, surprise – on submit – ‘Error: Your form is not valid, please fix the errors!’

    Really???

    Hi @canine1503

Please try removing the “&” from all options/fields available for the checkboxes. (Ex: There may be a name, value, and other fields that the symbols need to be removed from).
It seems like some of the values for your checkboxes may still have an &: https://i.imgur.com/z4rlCbt.png

If you’re still having issues after this:
Can you please provide an export of your form via DropBox or Google Drive or PasteBin so people can take a closer look.

    Re: Spam Concern
I’ve filled out your form a handful times with dummy info, so that may account for a few of the “spam” entries that you’ve received in the past ~24 hours.

When testing on your end, remember you only need to fill the required fields and test the
