Forum Login Problems ftp/wordpress problems
-
Hello,
Last week my site was hacked and I now am experiencing two annoyances. (Also of note is that I upgraded to 2.7 last week–perhaps this is the problem and not the hack?)
1) Logging on to the dashboard and the forum now require different passwords so that every time I want to login to the forum I must reset my password, and then when I want to login to the dashboard afterward I need to reset it again, ad infinitum. If I don’t use the forum (or don’t use the dashboard) I can log in and out without a problem.
2) When I upload files directly onto my server via ftp, wordpress does not seem to see them. That is, if I upload a plugin to the plugins folder, it does not recognize that it is there and I cannot activate it. I can, however, install it via the dashboard without a problem. Similarly, if I upload an audio file to the audio folder, I get the message “Error opening file” when I click on the audio player on the site. To be sure, I renamed an old file that is still accessible on the site, reuploaded it with ftp and then changed the post to the new name and it no longer works. So the problem is not with the files.
I’ve searched on the forums but have not found anything quite the same. Any ideas?
Thanks!
