I have a client who want a wordpress site that is a forum where people can sign in and place photos of there vehicles. He also want to sell merchandise on the site.
Please can any one advise on themes and how I can do this for him.

All we can suggest is that you browse the themes in https://www.ads-software.com/themes/ The tag filter may help you narrow down your search to just the themes containing the features that you want. Any additional functionality that you need may be added via plugins.
