Forum plugin without groups

  • I am looking for a plugin which provides a forum in WordPress. I have tried many plugins and non-plugins (e.g., wp-forum, simple:press forum, bbPress) but they all have one problem: they all have multiple forums.

    My site isn’t big enough to warrant splitting the discussions up into many forums, and the standard set up of having categories or groups with many sub-forums is unnecessarily awkward if you only have one forum. My php/WP expertise isn’t enough that I can confidently lobotomize an existing plugin and modify it to take out this feature successfully.

    Is there a WP plugin or easily integrable software out there that is (or has the option to be) a simple single forum?
