Forward events

Basically all I need is an option that the events created forwards to another website. IE hosting an event on my site and then user clicks to another URL. Sounds easy but I don’t know where to incorporate this within the plugin code. Thank you!

This is the bit I’m not clear on: forwards to another website. What does? How? Do you mean you want to not use the normal Events Manager single event pages at all?

Hi Caiman, sorry for the misunderstanding. When creating an event through the plugin, I would like the option for the Event to link to another website. I would still have this Event featured and listed on my website, but it would click-through to another site that contains the events information (not hosted by me).

To answer your question, yes this essentially means I would bypass creating a single events page.

The easiest way to do that is probably to use the custom attributes feature to store the URL you want to forward to for each event, then use the placeholder for the stored URL in the formatting boxes under Events > Settings > Formatting > Events.

This topic really confused me until I read the last OP post.

What it really sounds like you are trying to do…
Is if somebody clicks on the Event you created.. it goes to the website (festival) that the Event is “talking” about.

This (if I am understanding you correctly) is a redirect.
Which can be achieved with plugins… or manually in your htaccess file.

But !

It sounds like you are just trying to post a link, to another “offsite” event.
But using EM to generate that link.
I don’t think that is possible.

I think, if that is the case… I would suggest, you simple create the Event… and add a link to the “Official” festival or event.

If indeed you still would create an event on your site.. using attributes as Caimin suggested here is some help.

and thusly use that to insert a link..

If you wanted to do some “work” on this project.. and actually replace the “link” as you originally wanted..
I think it may be possible.. with using the #_ATT and writing your with a “has” statement. Something similar to these…
