Forwarded URL and wordpress blog address

  • I have a URL (www.example.com) registered at godaddy, that I have forwarding to my wordpress install on a different url that I have hosting with (www.anotheraddress.com/wordpress). I changed my blog address and wordpress URL to the new forwarded address in the WP admin.

    When I enter the forwarded URL (example.com) into my browser, it reaches my install, but without any of the styling/css. Also, I can no longer log in. I’m able to revert back by changing the database values back to the old value, but I’m wondering why this isn’t working. I’m able to hit the CSS page using the forwarded address (ie, https://www.example.com/sytle.css) but it won’t load in the page.

    Why won’t it load the other files?

  • because of the forwarding – wordpress doesn’t like it with all of the relative url’s

    why can’t you just put the dns info in at your “different” server and do it correctly?
