Forwarding Purchase Receipts to Friends

  • I forwarded a Purchase Receipt email to another one of my email accounts and was able to click on the link and download the file again. Does this mean that anyone can just forward a Purchase Receipt to their friends so they can download the file for free?

    Please navigate to Plugin Settings > Misc (Tab) > File Downloads (Sub Tab).

    There are various settings regarding this like “File Download Limit” and etc. “File Download Limit” can be override from individual download product also.

    Please configure the settings and it will work for you.

    Let’s say a customer buys products without creating an account. A few weeks later, they decide they want an account so they can access their information. How do they create an account that will show all of their previous purchases?

    When we install Easy Digital Downloads, It creates some page for account purpose. “Purchase History Page” is one of them. You can take a look at below settings.

    To access purchase history, user account must be exist or created with the same email ID.

    You can change your store behavior from Plugin Settings > Misc > Checkout > Show Register / Login Form?

    Here is one plugin “EDD Auto Register” https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/edd-auto-register/ which helps you to create the automatic account of user when they purchase and email them the credentials. You can explore some other settings from plugin.

    Now user can access the their purchase history from your site.
