    Hi Brian,

    I’ve been thinking about what you said and it occurred to me that this should be seen as a feature and not a bug. After all, why would you want to be notified of something that you added yourself?

    I’m marking this as resolved, but if you want to provide the code to force the notification, I’ll add it to the next version along with an admin option to enable it.

    In the community websites where I use this plugin we might have a forum that is presidents corner or news updates from the property manager. If the site admin uses the create new topic from the dashboard or quicklinks and adds their message then none of the members know it is there unless they go looking for it, not very good if it is important news. So, I would think the best option would be to allow the administrator of the website to choose how to handle this occurrence.

    Unfortunately, I do not know php well enough to hack your code. Thanks for the reply and I still hope that you might consider adding the option to a future update.
