We have followed all the guidelines from Google to display our brand name in the SERPs; however, our website URL still appears instead of the brand name. Refer to the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/aO4_Rey6X0MQ.

When reviewing our competitors, we found that they optimized their sites in a similar way. However, some of them used the AISEO plugin.

On our site, the schema markup generated by Yoast on the homepage uses the meta title content for the name property. Refer to the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/JKZFayehOLfE. This markup also appears at the top of the source code and we don’t see such a thing in AISEO plugin. We suspect this is causing Google to be confused about selecting our brand name.

Is there a way to update the schema markup from Yoast to address this issue?

    Waiting for your response. Thanks!

  • You’re looking at the WebPage structured data, not company information.

Use the validator to view all the schema data and check the site representation section of the plugin settings.

    Hello @devlopteam20,

Thanks for using Yoast SEO. As @robwent mentioned, you’re looking at the WebPage not Organization. Here’s a screenshot that shows Yoast SEO outputs your WebSite Name correctly.

The plugin will use the name of your WordPress site as the website name, as indicated in WordPress > Settings > General. If you want a different name to be displayed in the search results, you can change the site name in the field WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > General > Site Basics > Website name. This will overwrite the default WordPress site name in the structured data code that Yoast SEO outputs for the name of the WebSite.

In addition to controlling the site name, you can also control the output for the?alternateName?structured data by filling in the “Alternate website name” field. Like?name, this is a property of the?WebSite?structured data. Here, you can enter a (potentially shorter) alternate name for your website. You can read more?here.

I recommend posting a question in the?Google Search Central Help Community?for further assistance.
