Hi, I have the free version of The Events Calendar, and I am now struggling to see new events in the summary (side bar). Is there a fix that resolves compatibility with Brickyard Theme (now no longer supported)?

Does this mean I need to load a new theme?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi there,

That sounds more like a caching thing than an issue at all. Visiting your site now I can see the same events in your sidebar and when visiting the events page, so I can’t see any issues there right now.

If you’re using a cache plugin or your server has a strong cache rule, your changes will not reflect on the front-end immediately exactly because that’s what cache plugins/services do, showing a pre-saved version of a page and avoiding rendering it again.

Thanks Guga, so I deactivated WP Super Cache, and then deleted all the cache from the Google Chrome browser, but I still can’t see the 20 April 2024 event?

    Can you see it?

    Hello @splucas1,

    Thanks for your reply.

Follow this guide to test for conflicts with your theme or another plugin. This is an important step as sometimes theme or plugins conflicts create unexpected behavior.

Make sure that you activate the Twenty Twenty theme and disable all plugins, except for The Event Calendar and its add-ons.

Next, try to replicate the issue.?You should try activating plugins one at a time and testing your site again until you find the culprit plugin.

Try disabling caching-related on the theme settings if there’s any.

    I hope that helps.

Hi Frank, yes I did this already, and in Twenty Twenty theme the missing event shows up again – even with all the other plugins active! So I’m pretty sure it’s in conflict with Brickyard theme.

Is there anything else I can try before I resort to changing the theme… which is really disruptive as I’m sure you realise.

    Hi @splucas1,

Thank you for testing that and confirming.

We have no integration with Brickyard theme, and it appears that it’s incompatible with The Events Calendar. At this point, I recommend contacting the theme author to see if they can help, and let us know if they need anything from us.

Hi Atousa, sadly there seems to be no way to communicate with the Brickyard Premium support team.

So it looks like I’ll need to choose a new theme! : (
