    Hi

    I am facing this when I add the API.

    You’ve reached your usage limit. See your usage dashboard and billing settings for more details.

    Does it mean I will have to pay for the openai? so the plugin is free but eventually I need to pay for the openai, is my understanding correct?

    Please guide me

    AI Engine doesn’t come with pre-built AI models, you can connect with OpenAI. You don’t have to subscribe (like ChatGPT Plus), but you gotta set up your billing details on OpenAI. They offer their API services on a pay-as-you-go basis.

    When you sign up for an account on OpenAI, make sure to set up your usage limits and payment method to use the API smoothly.

    Just a heads up, if you decide to pay for ChatGPT Plus (which is totally optional), it’s a separate service and not required to use the API.

    Please note that not only OpenAI services are usable with the AI Engine. You can also connect with OpenRouter and utilize free models that don’t require you to pay anything.

    Hi @valwa,

    Thank you for the details info.

    I have used OpenAI and paid $5 for the testing purpose once before and the credit is all used. now the API key I used before is no longer working unless making a payment.

    so there is no way to go back to the prior stage where can be used for free of charge? (in fact, I don’t quite remember if it was free though unless you can confirm it is free to use upto certain threshold.

    That’s my question, is it free to use ? or is not free to use besides that I need to fill up the billing details.

    Please guide me on this.

    Using OpenAI services isn’t free. However, using AI Engine is free.

    You can explore alternatives like OpenRouter Free models if you prefer not to credit your OpenAI account. Thanks!
