The free plugin works well within its limitations. I would give it 4 stars on its own. If all you care about is the free version and have no intention of going with the Pro version or dealing with support, you can stop here.

    —————————————————-

If you decide to buy the Pro version for the extra features, there are some things you should know which may or may not effect your decision:

First, you are not provided with a download link for the plugin after purchase like normal companies do. Instead, you are directed to install a separate plugin (10web manager) in order to install and manage the plugin you just bought…

This secondary plugin seems to have 2 functions: the 2nd function is for installing and updating the main plugin (along with any other plugins of theirs you may own) – you have to have this 2nd plugin installed if you want to receive plugin updates.

The main function of the additional plugin is to gather everything they can about your website by forcing you to connect it to their “dashboard”. This also allows for them to attempt to market all the other plugins that they sell. Setting up this website connection has to be done before you can even install the photo gallery plugin you purchased, mind you.

The photo gallery pro plugin is automatically installed (with no prompts or confirmation whatsoever) once you connect your website to their dashboard. Hunting for a download link for the actual plugin .zip file on the dashboard took awhile, its not very easy to find. Seems like they don’t really want you to manually install it.

None of this is mentioned on the sales page by the way.

Pretty deceptive business practice in my opinion…
