    Hi–

I have a product that I offer as a free download along with my regular items. When a customer tries to “purchase” ONLY that free item, though, they get an error (when they click “Proceed to Checkout”) that their cart is empty.

Is there some way to convince eShop that even a zero balance cart is acceptable as long as there’s a product to download in the cart?

    Thanks!

Ahem. I found the setting I thought existed–in Settings > eShop > General waaaay at the bottom is “Allow zero cost orders”–but it’s already set to Yes.

More problematically, I just had a customer report the same error with a NON-zero cost cart, and I’ve confirmed: adding product to cart and clicking “Proceed to checkout” reports an empty cart.

Any suggestions for other settings to check? This has worked before–the only change I remember making is ending a “50% off orders over $40” sale….

    Thanks in advance….

Smack me. The W3 Total Cache plugin was conflicting with eShop. I didn’t even think to check that one because so many people recommended it to me. I’ll leave that deactivated for a while and see how things go….
