• I’m pleased to report success on a site for one of my retirement hobbies that includes Advanced Custom Fields embedded in the default WP post type, Yannick Lefebvre’s “Link Library” with 30+ pages listing links in one category, and FREE Relevanssi which searches standard post content, the Advanced Custom Fields and the fields in the Link Library.

My Relevanssi configuration is fairly simple:
    Indexing:
    – post type
    – page type
    – link_library_link

    Custom fields: VISIBLE
    Expand shortcodes: UNCHECKED

    Searching:
    – AND
    – Fallback to OR? unchecked
    – Default order: Relevance
    – Keyword matching: Partial
    UNCHECK:
    – Boost exact matches
    – Admin searches
    – Respect exclude_from_search
    – Throttle searches
    No category restrictions
    No category exclusions
Post exclusion: a long list of comma separated post ID numbers (in my case 30+)

If you do NOT include the “link_library_links” in the configuration, the indexing will not include the Link Library!

    Hope this helps someone.
Feel free to PM me to collaborate.

  • No success on my end, yet. Do you have a url you can share showing what your integration looks like? On my set up, following your config suggestions, links from link library show up in the search results, but clicking on them doesn’t take you to the link’s url… the url is overwritten as if wordpress is looking for a blog post, resulting in the viewer never getting the promised info.

I’ve tried it with and without my theme’s search.php page. What I’m looking for is a format very much like link library’s native search form results, but including additional post types for blog posts, bbpress, and downloads (from download monitor plugin). No joy yet with relevanssi.

Alas, I ended up “cheating” by installing another plugin that essentially requires that the URL in your Link Library be duplicated.

I’m using the plugin called “Page Links To”:
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/page-links-to/

The primary problem is that that Mr. Yannick L. doesn’t use the same tables/fields that Relevansi wants to search, but the Page Links To seems to bridge that gap. I think I tried to figure it out, but don’t remember exactly now what I found and as long as it seems to work, my low volume site is fine.

Feel free to PM me, but I’d rather not share my url “in the open air”.
