• Setting up a fairly large shop that sells in bulk to manufacturers. Vendor provides free delivery within a certain radius to their large customers. They ship via UPS all over the country and to small volume local customers. They want to setup shipping so that qualified local delivery customers automatically get free shipping (since it’s delivered free). So I’m trying to find a way to setup free shipping via account or customer but coming up empty. The only way I’ve found to do it is via coupon code, which is less than ideal since the coupon code could easily be shared and used for small orders for other local clients (that don’t buy enough to qualify for free delivery/free shipping).

Hopefully this makes sense…so was wondering if anyone else has faced this and found a solution.

  • Hi,

why you not use Shiping Zones? You can set local zone by regions and postcodes and add for it free shipping.

Because the vendor doesn’t offer free deliver to every client in those local areas, only to large clients that order a lot of merchandise. They supply safety equipment to manufacturers and if someone orders 10 pairs of safety glasses, they won’t hand deliver them regardless of their location. If a customer orders 1000 pairs of safety glasses…they’ll deliver. So Shipping Zones won’t work for this. Looks like I’m going to have to use coupon codes as I’ve not found a way to do it by account.
